Pokhara Ghandruk Trek
The Ghandruk trek is the name given to the trekking route from Pokhara to Ghandruk and is one of the best trekking route options for those families who have small kids. It is situated in the Annapurna region and places like Hemja, Dhampus village; Phedi, Tolka, Kimche, Landruk, Nayapul and finally Ghandruk are covered. The trek starts at your hotel located at the Lakeside region in Pokhara and ends up there only. Day 01:Kathmandu – Pokhara
Today we drive to Pokhara (200km) from Kathmandu, for approximately 7 hours away by tourist bus. You will see nice scenery of countryside while driving. You will be arriving late afternoon at Pokhara around 2:00 o’clock. Pokhara is an delightful Himalayan Valley of marvellous beauty. You can explore its beautiful eye catching land on bicycle or by foot or as your own like boating in Fewa Lake overlooking the region of Annapurna Himalayan ranges. After arrival in Pokhara, you will be dropped at pre booked Pokhara hotel by the private vehicle provided by us. Introduction to guides and enjoy evening dinner at the hotel. In the evening our guide will meet you and ensure your preparation for the trek to check your clothing and trekking equipment viz. sleeping bag, down jacket, trekking boots etc. You can also take a walk or travel around the local areas, market and explore lifestyle of the people living here. This is a short, easy and popular trekking plus suitable for those tourist aspirants who didn’t have long holidays available. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 02:Pokhara – Ghandruk (915m – 1940m)
Leave Pokhara early in the morning by bus or taxi to Nayapool or to Phedi. The trek commences from here and starts with a short bus to Nayapul. The trail will go to lower Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the biggest village in the whole trek. There are lots of tea houses and you will really enjoy this unique tea house culture in your trekking. You can explore local lifestyle and tradition in Ghandruk village. From Phedi we will take a path that is steeply up the hill to our right towards Dampus. Walking along this ridge offers wonderful views of Annapurnas, Manaslu. When you go to Birethati, you will turn right after crossing the Modi river and aim to reach Ghandruk for about 4-5 hours steep hill trial. Ghandruk village has wonderful views of Machhapuchre (Fishtail) and the Annapurna South.

Day 03:Ghandruk (Explore the Ghandruk Village)
Ghandrung, pronounced “Ghandruk” by resendents, is one of the second largest Gurung villages in Nepal where the first one is “Siklesh” and Ghandruk is typical in many respects. Further, more to the south of modern Ghandruk there is a incredible traditional Gurung village (Gairi Goun) with orderly rows of neat slate- roofed houses are clustered on the canyon wall between a complicated network of terraces where wheat and barley are grown. Visit typical villages to observe the life style of local people. Ghandruk offers very close view of the Annapurnas and the stunning view during sunset and sunrise is fantastic. The Ghandruk village still preserves the traditional houses with stone roofs and the local village museum is also worth exploring. Explore magnificent beauty of rich culture and traditional villages. At overall, we can say that the trek is easy and most adventurous that you can enjoy to your best in this trek. Therefore, this trek can be done anytime in the year even in summers too.

Day 04:Ghandruk – Pothana
On day fourth, the trail will decend down to Modi Khola and start climb up to Landruk village, the trail pass thorough the paddy fields than again start climb up to Pothana via Deuarli. The trekking covers an approximate distance of 15km from Ghandruk to Landruk and Pothana and the estimated trekking time is 8 hours.

Day 05:Pothana – Pokhara
Pothana is situated on the ridge of hill and offers the spectacular views of Annapurna ranges, Fishtail and green valley can be viewed from Pothana. Most part of the trail to Pokhara from Pothana is one the ridge of hill and you can walk into the forest from where the shining views of Himalayas can be observed. Thereafter, the trail will decend down to Phedi through the village of Dhaupus than take your taxi to Pokhara. After reaching back to Pokhara, departure from Pokhara to Kathmandu at your scheduled time of departure. You will be dropped at bus stand or airport, whatever may be applicable by our representative.
